Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

This website, spoljarec.com, is the personal and professional website of Vladimir Špoljarec ("I", "me"). I take your privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible. This page explains what is processed, why, and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible for your data

Vladimir Špoljarec
Zagreb, Croatia
Email: vladimir@spoljarec.com

2. What data is processed

Analytics (only with your consent). If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) is loaded. It uses cookies and collects pseudonymous usage data: pages visited, approximate location (city level), device and browser type. IP anonymization is enabled. I use this solely to understand how the site is used. Google acts as my processor and may transfer data to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

CookiePurposeDurationSet only after consent
_gaDistinguishes visitors (Google Analytics)2 yearsYes
_ga_*Maintains session state (Google Analytics)2 yearsYes

Your consent choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage (cookie-consent) so the banner does not reappear on every visit. This is strictly necessary and contains no personal data.

Contact. The inquiry form on this site does not send anything to a server. It opens your own email client with a pre-filled message. If you email me, I process your name, email address, and the content of your message in order to reply. Legal basis: taking steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or my legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Emails are retained as long as needed for our correspondence and legal obligations.

Hosting. This site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes IP addresses in server logs for security and operation of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

External links. The site links to LinkedIn and Google Calendar (for booking calls). Those services apply their own privacy policies once you visit them. Fonts, scripts, and styles on this site are self-hosted, so no requests are sent to third-party CDNs.

3. What is not done

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Croatia this is the Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP, azop.hr).
